I admit it, I have a love/hate relationship with Microsoft. I use their tools, develop software with their programming languages and frameworks on their OS, but sometimes I really get irritated by their decisions.
This time, Microsoft made a great decision – not later than a week after going RTM, both Windows Vista and Office 2007 will be available to MSDN subscribers. In fact, I can see that there is a scheduled downtime this Friday, November 10 between 7–9 PM Pacific time. Let me guess – the preparations for an avalanche (torrent? pun intended) of people trying to download Windows Vista and Office 2007.
Great move. Most of us developing for Windows Vista and Office 2007 do need a little bit of time before general public availability to polish our applications, and putting the ISO images for download is the best thing Microsoft can do for us (developers) and for them too.
This weekend the throughput of the Internet will be put to test
